Job summary
Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation trust is seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced senior manager to join the unplanned care division at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as General Manager for cluster 2. While a review of the overarching structure for the organisation is being developed, some aspects of cluster 3 will fall into the remit of this role.
Working closely with Clinical leaders and Matrons for the cluster and reporting directly to the Associate Director, you will be responsible for the financial, people and operational management of high performing departments as well as leading on various service improvement projects to support the achievement of the emergency standards. As one of three general management roles within the division, which also includes clinical support services and acute medicine, you will work closely as part of a committed and passionate multi-disciplinary team.
This is a significant opportunity for an experienced manager who wishes to extend their skills and knowledge within a high-profile leadership role in an 'outstanding' organisation committed to delivering high quality patient care.
To be successful in this role, candidates will be required to demonstrate extensive general and operational management experience ideally within an acute hospital setting and evidence knowledge of both inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services - whilst displaying a flexible and compassionate approach to leadership.
Main duties of the job

The General Manager for the Cluster is a high profile leadership role within the Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for overall management / leadership of the cluster, working closely with the Associate director and clinical leaders to deliver, develop and evaluate all services within their remit.
The General Manager will ensure that effective and efficient structures are in place to ensure that all standards of patient care are met and associated risk and governance matters are managed. The post holder will support the Clinical Director in developing efficient and effective patient centred services, meeting key financial and operational performance targets, and putting in place effective processes for delivering national / local targets, reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of services in terms of cost effectiveness and financial flows.
The post holder will work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and exploit opportunities for service redesign through the application of relevant service improvement techniques.
Deputise for the Associate Director as required and participate in the on call rota for the Trust.
