Job summary

Kingston Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Specialist Clinical Lead Radiographer/Technologist to provide expert clinical leadership, operational management, and professional development within our Nuclear Medicine department.

As a key member of the senior team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, and patient-centred service. As well as oversee the training, development and maintaining of competence for the Nuclear Medicineteam, including trainees.

Our Nuclear Medicine department is a busy and well-equipped unit providing a comprehensive range of diagnostic services.

Main duties of the job

To Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to the Nuclear Medicine Radiography/Technology team.

Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures, ensuring adherence to national guidelines and best practices.

Oversee the day-to-day operational management of the Nuclear Medicine service, including staff rotas, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.

Lead and participate in service improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative practices and pathways.

Be responsible for the training, supervision, and appraisal of Nuclear Medicine staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Maintain a high level of clinical expertise, performing a wide range of complex Nuclear Medicine procedures.

Ensure compliance with radiation protection regulations and local rules.

Act as a point of contact for complex clinical queries and provide expert advice to referrers and other healthcare professionals.

Contribute to audit and research activities within the department.
