Join our Team at the Children's Community Nursing Team at Kingston Hospital.

Are you an experienced Children's Community Nurse ready for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join and lead our Kingston team , the Peadiatric Outreach Nursing Team (PONT) who have recently integrated with the Richmond children's community nursing team.

We are seeking a dedicated team lead to provide leadership and clinical expertise within our Kingston team. The team provides acute and long term care to babies, children and young people living in the community with conditions such as Oncology/heamatology, short and long term Intravenous antibiotics (IVAB), complex needs and wound care.

Main duties of the job

o Lead and Inspire: To provide strong leadership and accountability for the Children's Community Nursing Team , ensuring a focus on clinical excellence and education.

o Promote Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of clinical care through professional leadership, offering guidance and expertise to cultivate a culture of compassion, inclusivity, collaboration and inspiration aligning with the Trust's values.

o Support and Develop Staff: Supervise team members, conduct appraisals and One to One meetings ,and assist them in setting clear objectives while creating effective personal development plans.

o Enhance Support Services: Contribute to the delivery of fair, patient and family centered support systems for babies, children, young people (BCYP), and their carers. Prioritise risk management and care planning ensuring services align with national, organisational, divisional, and trust strategies while collaborating with partner agencies.

o Strengthen Quality and Governance: Work closely with the Clinical Service Lead and Senior Nursing Leadership Team to enhance governance, quality, safety, education, and financial sustainability of services.

Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN/RNC)

Essential

  • Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN/RNC)
  • Post registration experience in children's community nursing, acute paediatrics or relevant specialism, e.g oncology, palliative care.
  • Strong leadship and managment skills, with the ability to support and develop a team
  • IVAB administration certificate and experience of central venous devices
  • Assessor/supervisor course completion
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi disciplinary teams
  • Full driving license
  • Ability to access and manage risk

Desirable

  • Specialist Qualification (SPQ) community nursing
  • Advanced assessment qualification or working towards
  • Non medical precribing qualifiaction, or working towards
  • Experience in long term ventilation care

Experience

Essential

  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle
  • Significant years of post registration experience

  • Chemotherapy qualification
