Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the paediatric allergy team as a full time paediatric allergy clinical nurse specialist. You will work within our allergy multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent holistic care and education to children from 0-17 years who have diseases across the atopic spectrum. This role delivers allergy care within the hospital setting and off site in a clinic setting. You will be a confident, experienced nurse who is able to work autonomously.
You will be a registered children's nurse and have experience working in paediatric allergy, asthma or dermatology and be willing to learn new skills. We are a friendly team who work closely together and share a vision of improving allergy care for our local children.
Main duties of the job
o Supporting multidisciplinary allergy clinics on-site and off-site.o Skin prick testing, patch testing, phlebotomy, respiratory function testing.o Running nurse-led allergy clinics.o Education - food allergy management, rhinitis management, device training (autoinjectors, inhalers, nasal sprays), eczema management.o Food challenges and supervised feeds.o Reviewing children admitted following allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.o Service improvement.o Working cohesively with the wider paediatric clinical nurse specialist team, medical and nursing teams, dietetic team and primary care services.
