Job summary

We are looking for a Play specialist in a Paediatric Ward setting and designated paediatric ED to work as part of a team of Hospital Play specialists to provide high quality, holistic play service for children and their families. To ensure all children have appropriate access to play whilst in hospital, plan play programmes enabling children and young people to understand, accept and co-ordinate with treatment.

Main duties of the job

The Paediatric Unit comprises of 24 beds and 2 high dependency beds, an expanding ambulatory care, a new physical assessment unit, a designated children's outpatients and a paediatric outreach nursing team.

There is a dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department, which works closely with the inpatient ward.

Both Areas are busy, friendly units that provide high quality care for children with a wide range of medical, surgical and complex conditions.You will be supported in your role through a comprehensive induction.
