Job summary
The Orthopaedic Outpatient Department provides a Monday to Friday service for the management of Trauma and Orthopaedic conditions. The post holder will support the delivery of both fracture and elective clinics, and plaster service within the department. The unit is co-located with the other departments in Main Outpatients, and consists of 10 clinic rooms, Plaster Room, dressing room and a waiting/reception area. In addition, the post-holder will be expected to be allocated shifts in our clinics held at our outreach services at Raynes Park, Molesey GP Surgery and Teddington Memorial Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will endeavor to provide outstanding care to patients in the Orthopaedic OPD. The post holder will be responsible for the pro-active management of patients as part of the multi-disciplinary team within their clinical area of responsibility. In addition the post holder will provide guidance to junior members of staff within this area, ensuring an effective quality service, with responsibility for standards of patient care and safety. The post holder will be willing to complete daily nursing duties, dressing clinics, phlebotomy, and specialist wound care.
The post-holder will be providing direct and in-direct care to adults, children and young persons attending an Orthopaedic outpatients department.
