Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for managing the day to day clinical activities carried out on the ward. The role will hold key responsibility for shift management and ensuring appropriate staff and skill mix across the ward on a daily basis to ensure excellent delivery of patient care.

The post holder will act as a role model for junior members of the team in the delivery of high standards of nursing care. The post holder will be a bleep holder and be expected to deal with complaints and queries from staff, patients and relatives. The post holder will also be expected to deputise for the supervisory ward Sister/Charge Nurse during episodes of absence.

Main duties of the job

The Acute Assessment Unit is looking for a dynamic, dedicated, and hardworking experienced trained nurse to develop into the role of Junior Sister or Charge Nurse. You will be expected to provide high quality patient care, support and supervise ward staff and take charge of the ward in the absence of the Senior Sister.

This role will give you the opportunity to develop both your clinical and managerial knowledge and skills.
