Job summary
The HR Advisory Manager will lead the HR Advisory Team to provide a first-class HR advisory service to all managers and staff consistent with the vision, priorities and objectives of the Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for managing and developing the HR Advisory Team, ensuring the service provided is pragmatic, customer focused, consistent and compassionate in accordance with the Trust objectives and the Workforce strategy. This includes the generalist HR Advisory provision to be the first line for general HR queries, including MHPS cases, oversight of employee relations cases and reporting, policy development and delivery of HR compliance through the team. Also, essential will be the development of strong relationships with staff side and embedding just culture in the way in which matters are approached.

Main duties of the job
An expert in management best practice and employment law and advising on complex employee relations matters, the post holder will lead the HR Advisory team in supporting and guiding managers to work in line with Trust policies and procedures and ensuring lessons are learnt and HR best practice is maintained. The post holder will be responsible for the HR Advisory team in supporting managers from the point of referral to the Advisory team through to Employment Tribunal. The post holder will also be responsible for leading on the development of best practice employment policies and guidance and the design, development and delivery of 'bitesize' policy related training.
The post holder will also work closely with the HR Business Partners to ensure the focus is on support and development for line managers to enable them to become more self-sufficient with employee relations matters, consistent with organization's objectives and personal development plans.
In addition, the team is also responsible for key employment processes including probation and engagement, management of visa renewal processes, professional registration, DBS and some benefits administration.
