Job summary

The Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Department is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team. During your time with us you will be working to sustain the many improvements implemented and you will lead our admin and potentially bring about further improvement whilst working closely with our clinical and managerial teams.

The post holder will assist with the day-to-day operational management of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Service and will deputise for the Service Manager as appropriate. You will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of the Administration teams in terms of induction, training, appraisals, annual leave and sickness monitoring via the team leader and Administrative Manager. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating validation of the 6 week diagnostic target for Endoscopy and RTT targets for gastroenterology service supporting with validation as appropriate across the Cluster.

Main duties of the job

The Service Support Manager assists the Service Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service, to deliver high quality patient services within the resources available.Working under the supervision of the Service Manager, this role will have a strong operational focus providing support for day to day management and administration of the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy service and deputising for the Service Manager.The Service Support Manager will be responsible for the investigation of PALS concerns and assist in the management of related national and local targets for the service lines.
