Job summary
This is a new post for a candidate with training in chest radiology at ST4 and 5 or with specialist chest radiology experience as a consultant.
Main duties of the job
We welcome applicants who wish to work either full-time (maximum 10 PA) or less than full-time (minimum 6 PA). General CT and MRI reporting experience is required along with the ability to report HRCT and participate in the Lung Cancer MDT, pulmonary nodule follow-up MDT and general lung imaging MDT. If possible, attendance at a regional lung MDT could also be facilitated at job planning. The ability to perform lung biopsy is desirable and we will support training opportunities to develop this skill.
About us
Thesuccessful candidate will be part of the diagnostic radiology on-call rota. We have a weekday on call on site from 5-8pm. Overnight CT between 8pm-8am is reported by an outsource company (4Ways) and there is a separate weekend interventional on call rota.
The department has a key focus on Risk and Governance and has developed a joined-up structure for reviewing, reporting and learning from errors. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in regular Radiology Events and Learning Meetings (REALMS) and participate in a panel of three radiology consultants (on a 3-month rolling rota) who will review all incidents, assign degree of risk and undertake appropriate investigations to fruition. SPA up to 2 PAs is contingent on this participation, participation in regular audit in the department and taking on responsible roles.
