Job summary

To manage a defined caseload of patients with complex needs, using evidence based practice, Occupational Therapy goals and patient centred principles.

Main duties of the job

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions while working as an autonomous practitioner, ensuring care remains patient-centred and evidence-based at all times. Work collaboratively within the Integrated Community Team, contributing to a strong multidisciplinary (MDT) approach to goal setting, care planning and service delivery. Provide leadership and support to junior staff, support workers and assistants through effective supervision, training and performance appraisal. Ensure a consistently high quality of service delivery, including the development and implementation of effective treatment and care plans, while contributing to the improvement of standards of care through the efficient and effective use of resources. Work in accordance with national and local guidance, including the NHS Improvement Plan, Supporting Patients with Long-Term Conditions, and the National Service Framework (NSF) for Older People.

Main duties of the job

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes, Essex.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement Fringe (Basildon, Thurrock, Brentwood, Harlow and Dartford only)This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,346 to a maximum of £2,270 p.a. pro rata for part time)
