North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT), a large community and mental health Trust, is excited to announce the creation of a brand-new senior leadership role: Director of Involvement (Band 8d).

We are seeking an inspiring leader who has lived or living experience as a patient or carer in community health and / or mental health services. You will bring your unique perspective to the heart of our organisation, ensuring meaningful coproduction is core to delivery of outstanding services.

As Director of Involvement, you will have a proven track record in people participation within the NHS, alongside skills in strategic thinking, vision setting, and overseeing diverse teams. Your understanding of and commitment to coproduction will help us shape services that truly reflect the needs of our communities.

Main duties of the job

The role includes:o Leading on coproduction agenda throughout the organisationo Integrating coproduction into the overall running of the organisationo Holding responsibility for the peer support worker agenda for the organisationo Leading on external relationships designed to improve life experiences of people in ourcommunitieso Allying with directorates to ensure that the voice of people who use services is at theheart of all care delivery and central to decision makingo Compassionately leading the Involvement Team; setting clear goals; promotinginnovationo Line Management responsibility of senior members of Involvement Team andprofessional responsibility of all members of Involvement Teamo Working in partnership with directors and other staff across NELFT to prioritisecoproductiono Leading on the integration of patients within committees at senior levels of NELFTo Developing and leading on the strategy of engagement with external partners for thebenefit of patientso Leading on quality improvement innovations and supporting others in the team to carryout QI projectso Assurance to Board of coproduction throughout organisationo Close working alliances with others in similar roles in other organisations

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period.

Starting with Us

NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
