Senior Psychological Therapist/Family Therapist - CYP Eating disorders

Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced psychological therapist or accredidated family therapist to join our dedicated Lifespan Community Eating Disorder service based in North East London NHS Foundation Trust . The successful applicant will take a leadership role in the development of the CYP part of all age community eating disorder service, offer expert supervision and support the team to deliver high quality NICE concordant psychological therapy . The post holder will be expected to offer clinical support and guidance and expert clinical supervision on NICE concordant psychological approaches to psychological practitioners working with children and young people with an eating disorder.

The successful candidate will have a robust knowledge of risk assessment for safe management of physical and psychological risk in eating disorders. You will have clinical oversight of complex cases where regular liaison with partnership agencies such as bed management team and specialist eating disorder inpatient units is required. The post holder will work well within a MDT setting however should be able to deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the eating disorder service's policies and procedures.

  • We are seeking an individual who has experience in working with children and young people with eating disorders and their care givers and is passionate about delivering high quality, patient-led care.
  • The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior leadership team driving standards and supporting the camhs therapy team to deliver NICE concordant psychological treatments.
  • You will have advanced risk management skills and expert in delivering NICE recommended eating disorder therapies.
  • You will have a track record in delivering high quality expert clinical supervision including advanced skills in case formulation.
  • You role will dove tail with senior leads on the camhs part of NELFT all age eating disorder service driving clinical standards of care.

Starting with Us

NELFT places great importance on new starters being properly welcomed into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).
