Job summary
We are a telephone triage service who identifies a young person's emotional wellbeing and mental health needs to direct them to the most appropriate support service. We listen and advise families and other professionals with evidence based advice and information.
We are looking for experienced clinicians who are passionate about young people's mental health. You will have experience and knowledge in working with children and young people, an understanding of mental illness, child development and treatment pathways.
You will have a core profession; Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or other Allied Health Professional.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities of the post:
The successful candidate will work in a team sharing duties and tasks within our 3 core functions, 1. NHS 111 - taking calls, triaging and signposting2. Business As Usual - telephone triages3. Screening - reviewing referrals to determine if triage is required.
You shoud have a wide range of knowledge in approaches to communicating and managing care with families, children and young people.
Have excellent communication skills and be able to enagage and control a conversation eliciting key information pertinant to the purpose of the call. This requires confidence and active listening.
Be proficient in computer and IT skills.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
