Job summary

CAMHS within the London Borough of Havering are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about ensuring there are robust and informative assessments in place for your Young people and their families and are committed to collaborative working across the Borough and utilising the skills experience ad contribution of delivery partners across Health, Education and Social Care to ensure our young people are well looked after and are empowered to meet their potential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in close collaboration with the Access and Assessment manager and develop positive working relationships with senior staff across London NELFT particularly Havering locality.

  • To be responsible for the day to day organising, prioritising, and allocating of workloads in line with Key Performance Indicators
  • To work from Havering based children sites for the duration of working hours
  • To have oversite of the demands of the Access and assessment service, including referrals for mental health, referrals for Neurodevelopment.
  • To work in close collaboration with the service managers advising of current demands, work allocation, challenges, and solutions
  • To promote the development of an effective team and the development of productive working relationships throughout the Trust
  • To advise, encourage and share knowledge utilising the latest research and practice development, through literature and peer reviews.
  • To provide patients and relatives with information and education thus ensuring they have meaningful choices that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735 p.a. pro rata for part time).

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy Assessment Post Graduate diploma or Undergraduate degree in Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, etc. Current NMC registration (RMN), HCPC, Social worker registration.

Experience

Essential

  • At least 2 years post qualification experience at B6 working within Child and Adolescent services
  • Experience of offering clinical and management supervision to junior staff members
  • Experience of working with children and families with mental health and behavioural issues in a CAMHS setting. Experience of working with children and families who have experienced trauma. Experience of consulting with safeguarding professionals and involvement in making safeguarding referrals. Experience
