Would you like to work in a dynamic, ethnically diverse, NHS community paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team who prioritise training and supervision?
Our Speech and Language Therapy Team situated in the London Borough of Redbridge have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join us on a part-time basis to work in our Mainstream Schools Team. We are a well-established service serving a diverse London community. This post will ideally suit an established Band 7 speech and language therapist looking for a new challenge or a band 6 therapist wishing to develop their skills and progress to a band 7 role pending meeting competencies.
Working as part of the team you will provide a service for children aged 4-18 presenting with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties within mainstream schools settings.
You will be leading the team to develop the mainstream schools and Buy-in Schools provision and care pathway in Redbridge.
Main duties of the job
The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Redbridge operates within a multi-disciplinary team for children with additional needs and disabilities. We offer:

Candidates will need to demonstrate the following requirements:
- A recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent and relevant professional registration.
- Providing an advanced standard of assessment, clinical diagnosis, treatment and management of communication difficulties in children.
- Devising and delivering appropriate, highly specialist intervention/care plans of speech and language therapy for clients.
- Experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist in Mainstream Schools.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as an effective multi-disciplinary team member.
- Experience in supervising other team members.
About us
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941) pro rata for part time staff.
