Job summary
We are looking for an Audiologist to join our team paediatric department within Havering Children's Community Services, NELFT NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a community based department with two sites Harold Wood Clinic in Havering and Child and Family Centre in Barking.
NELFT offer paediatric services including, newborn screening, diagnostic ABR, hearing aid fitting, and support families until the age of 18 years. NELFT also provide hearing assessment for children with complex needs include autism. Within the audiology team NELFT also offer Tinnitus support and balance testing for children.
Main duties of the job
The service covers Havering, Barking and Dagenham. The successful applicant would work across both sites.
We are looking to fill a full time post, flexible working patterns will be taken into consideration.
The successful candidate will be required undertaking hearing assessments for children age over 6 months old. This will require skills in VRA, Play Audiometry and objective testing. 1 years experience in paediatric testing is desirable. NELFT will support with training for an audiologist with play audiometry experience that has not done VRA Audiometry before.
The successful candidate will also be required to arrange their own diary to accommodate hearing aid repairs. The service currently fitting Phonak and Oticon hearing aids. Experience would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided.
This is an excellent opportunity for a band 6 adult audiologist to develop and expand their skills or for a paediatric audiologist looking to expand their skills in a new team.
The service book patients on the Trust wide patient management system called RIO, this system is shared with SALT, HV, paediatrics and physio. The ENT records are available on East London Patient Records System. Newborn hearing screening records are recorded on S4H.The team test hearing using the Interacoustics Affinity Compact system.
NELFT as a trust are particularly keen to encourage personal development, monthly 1:1 with your line manager, CPD goals and training will be provided.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4, 714 to a maximum of £5,941).
