Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, passionate, and self-motivated band 6 pharmacy technician to join our Pharmacy Digital Medicines Team at North East London NHS Foundation Trust. You will be working closely with the Chief Pharmacy Information Officer, members of the Pharmacy Digital Team, and the wider pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, previous experience providing a pharmacy service within a hospital setting alongside and working within change management. Experience of working in a Pharmacy Digital Team is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out the role of Pharmacy Informatics & e-Prescribing Pharmacy Technician Specialist and will be responsible for the following:

Working as member of the NELFT Pharmacy Informatics Team to support the safe and effective implementation, monitoring, optimisation, and ongoing maintenance of digital medicines & pharmacy informatics systems across the Trust.

Using a range of pharmaceutical and information technology (IT) skills and expertise to contribute to the design and promotion of new ways of working, including system configuration, providing training and floor walking support, development of processes to ensure maximum levels of safety and quality.

The role demands an organised and flexible individual who can deal with confidential and sensitive information, one who is able to work independently, make judgements to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and able to work in an agile manner.

About us

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735).
