Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in Developmental Trauma: Children Looked After Champions Team, Waltham Forest CAMHS (8a Full time, permanent)
Are you a trauma-informed practitioner passionate about the needs of looked after children, and keen to work in a friendly and dynamic DDP-informed team? We have an exciting role for an experienced CLA specialist to develop their clinical and leadership skills as our Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist in Developmental Trauma.
We are looking for applicants experienced in working with looked after children or with significant transferrable skills and relevant knowledge and training. You will ideally be trained in DDP approaches (or willing to undertake training) to support our existing provision of specialist DDP-informed interventions for carers and schools.
Main duties of the job
You will provide direct therapeutic work (individual therapy, group work and parent/carer workshops), clinical supervision, and consultation and training to health, education and social care professionals. You will be passionate about ensuring the child's voice is central to the work you do and work in partnership with families/carers and other agencies to achieve the outcomes desired by the child or young person. Clinical supervision and line management will be provided by the Strategic Lead for Children Looked After.
Alongside your main role in the CLA Champions team (0.7 whole time equivalent), you will be part of a large and friendly psychology team made up of clinical and counselling psychologists, CBT therapists, multidisciplinary trainees and assistant psychologists. Your senior clinical leadership role will include promoting trauma-informed practice and attachment-aware thinking in the wider service. You will promote co-production with those with lived experience and contribute to service development. You will provide supervision and consultation in the Emotional Difficulties Pathway where clients present with moderate to severe emotional difficulties, and hold a small caseload (0.3 wte). According to candidate preference, the 0.3 wte in the Emotional Difficulties Pathway can be swapped for 0.3 wte neurodevelopmental assessment, formulation and supervision. Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period.
NELFT place great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).
