Pathway Lead for Psychology in Early Intervention in Psychosis Services in Redbridge (Clinical/Counselling psychologist) Band 8b (0.6 FTE) Permanent
We are looking to appoint a 0.6 FTE Highly Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work in the Early Intervention in psychosis service in Redbridge as Pathway Lead f). We would consider part time arrangements in addition to job share with the other maternity cover post advertised for the same team.
The new post will suit an enthusiastic psychologist with a passion for developing and implementing evidence-based psychological therapies with people with early psychosis and their families. The candidate will be someone who values multi-disciplinary team working.
The post holder will join a well-established and supportive early intervention in psychosis service for people aged between 14-65 who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis and their families. The team offer NICE concordant care, which includes an emphasis on access to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), Family Interventions for psychosis (FIp) and trauma- focussed interventions, such a Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will also provide specialist psychological assessment, individual therapy, family interventions and group work. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the multidisciplinary team and offer consultation on psychological approaches to working with psychosis, as well as teaching and supervision of qualified, assistant and trainee psychologists. The team includes Band 8a and Band 7 psychologists as well as an assistant psychologist who offers a well-being and support package to carers.
The post holder will lead across the four NELFT boroughs (Havering, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham), with the support of the Professional and Strategic Lead for Psychological Services in EIS, across one of the four priority areas: Family Intervention. Our other priority areas are trauma-informed care, addressing inequalities, community psychology and and outcome monitoring.
The post holder will be expected to participate in supervision and CPD focused on evidence based interventions in psychosis. We offer monthly group supervision in FIp and NET. In addition, the post holder will receive individual supervision.
In collaboration with colleagues from other NELFT EIS teams, the post holder will contribute to expert by experience involvement in service development.

About us
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.
