Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant Talking Therapies Team in Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forrest and Havering. The Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner- Apprentice will be training to provide high volume low-intensity CBT-based interventions. This will include cognitive behavioural theory and practice in the format of guided self-help. This will be delivered over the phone, via video calls and face-to-face
We are collaborating with the University of Essex to offer the Postgraduate low-intensity CBT certificate. Your time in this fixed term role will be split between some days in university where you will be taught how to deliver CBT based psychological interventions, and some days working in our Talking Therapies service where you will be putting the teaching into practice with clients.
Main duties of the job
We are a dynamic and empowering team and as such the post holders will be expected to work well within a team setting, however, should also be able to deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's services policies and procedures.Main duties and responsibilities:
- To assess people with common mental health difficulties
- To provide CBT based psychological support for people with common mental health difficulties such as symptoms of Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder
- Deliver CBT based psychological support via telephone, video sessions, computerised CBT of face-to-face
- To co-facilitate CBT based treatment groups for people with common mental health difficulties with the support of a qualified clinician. This usually begins during the last term of your course
- To actively make use of clinical supervision for all client-related tasks in order to review and improve the effectiveness of interventions offered.
- To complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.High Cost Area SupplementThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum).
