Job summary
We are seeking motivated and dynamic Band 6 Mental Health Triage Practitioner (Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist) working as members of the Integrated Crisis Assessment (ICAH) and Psychiatric Liaison Service (PLS), serving Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT). The post holder will be working within a busy Emergency & Urgent Care Centre in King George and Queen's Hospitals.
Excellent communication skills are essential as well as good knowledge of current best practice and the ability to work as an effective team member across multi-professional teams. Liaising and forming good working relationships with UTC's/ ED/ ICAH/PLT/, Home Treatment Teams, Access & Assessment Teams, Mental Wellness Teams, inpatient staff, and other specialist teams within secondary care services.
The post holder will utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice, to effectively triage all referrals via the correct pathways where required and provide comprehensive psychosocial and emergency mental health assessments to the Urgent treatment centres, throughout BHRUT hospitals.

- To initiate and participate in audit and/or quality improvement projects associated with the work.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735 p.a. pro rata for part time).
