Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and highly skilled nurse to join the dynamic and progressive Specialist Palliative Care Team working in the London Borough of Redbridge for NELFT. The post is Full time 37.5 hrs per week 09.00 - 17.00 pm working flexibly across the 7-day service and is a substantive position. We are seeking a dynamic nurse, who can demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a passion for delivering the highest quality holistic palliative and end of life care to patients and their families.

The specialist palliative care clinical nurse specialist will be a key team member in the delivery of specialist palliative nursing services to enable and support timely and effective care and assessment and intervention for patients with specialist palliative care needs in the community settings.
Main duties of the job
They will, as part of the specialist palliative care service, enhance the specialist nursing service undertaking the assessment and triage of patients, ensuring patients and carers receive high quality care, support and advice.
The post holder will provide advice and support to other members of the multi-professional teams involved in the care of patients with specialist palliative care needs.
There is opportunity for professional development and specialist training in palliative care, including Independent Prescribing, which is beneficial in streamlining patient care interventions.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436) pro rata for part time staff.
