Job summary

Barking and Dagenham need a dynamic Band 6 community children's physiotherapist. The successful candidate will be as passionate as we are about bringing quality services to children, parents, carers and schools to improve outcomes. The caseload is mainly neurodevelopmental, paediatric MSK and orthopedic conditions. Children and young people are seen in clinics, homes and schools. Team work is essential and we are a combined Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy department with close links to other disciplines. Regular supervision and peer support is available. Main duties of the job

  • To work autonomously as a Band 6, within a specialist OT/PT children's community team, to provide an effective musculoskeletal physiotherapy service across Barking and Dagenham, to children 0-16 years old, in a clinic and mainstream school setting.
  • To provide a high standard of assessment and clinical diagnosis based on clinical findings, develop and implement an individualised treatment programme in conjunction with the child and their parents/carers referred to the physiotherapy service. To develop and provide a group programme as appropriate.
  • To work collaboratively with family/carers and all agencies involved with the child's care encompassing all public, private and voluntary sectors to enable the provision of the highest level of care to maximise the child's level of function in accordance with Trust and government recommendations.
  • To deputise when required in the Band 7 absence and delegate appropriately to health care assistants.

About us

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
