Job summary
We are hiring a Highly Specialised Speech and Language Therapist to work in our Community Adult Learning Disability Team in Barking & Dagenham.
This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team, working alongside occupational therapists, nurses, psychologists, art therapists, behaviour specialists, psychiatrists and physiotherapists to provide the best care to our service users. We also work closely with our social care colleagues
Main duties of the job

We offer a network of support to enable you to effectively perform the duties of your role, we will provide you with regular supervision and team meetings, access to our speech and language clinical community of practice as well as support from colleagues of different professions within the MDT and wider trust network activities.
We are working to the QNLD framework for providing community LD care and continually strive to improve our provision.
About us
Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

- Independently manage of a caseload of adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties with a diagnosis of Learning Disability, by planning, delivering and reviewing their individual packages of care.
- Guide service users, their support, colleagues and management by utilising skills, knowledge and practicalexperience to inform best practice care.
- Provide clinical supervision, second opinions and support to less experienced members of staff.
- Ensure outcome measures are embedded across the team .
- Use a quality improvement approach to evaluate and review performance and activity to contribute to service development.
