Job summary
A vacancy has become available within the Temporary Staffing team for the Temporary Staffing Bookings Lead. This is a fixed term contract/Secondment full time with the team until the end of September 2024.
The core business hours for the team are 8am-6pm Monday to Friday, therefore the successful candidate must be available to cover between those hours.
This role is based at Phoenix House, Basildon, however we are currently working a blended approach, partly in the office and partly agile from home (subject to change).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the Temporary Staffing Bookings and Transformation Manager, in providing a full and comprehensive Temporary Staffing service to the organisation and external clients, covering all aspects of the request and booking process for internal and external temporary staffing. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and propose changes to working practices as appropriate to improve service delivery. Ensuring an optimum number of suitably qualified and experienced temporary staff are available to support permanent staff as and when required. The post holder has a core focus on providing a full and comprehensive temporary staffing service to the organisation and external clients, covering all aspects of the request and booking process for internal and external temporary staffing.
- Supervising and organising the bookings team along with forward planning and delegation for the team relating to delivery against KPIs. Being able to adapt quickly to process changes and re-allocating prioritises.
- Assist the Bookings Manager with line management including 1:1's, appraisal and development for staff for the sub team leads
- Assist the Bookings Manager with the roll out of improvement projects across the Trust.
- Second point of contact for team to raise any queries or concerns in relating to booking processes and day to day allocation of work

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).

- Maintain clear documentation and update systems to ensure that communication is maintained, in all aspects of service delivery, to staff, external agencies, managers and colleagues. This will include communication via e-email, face to face, text and phone.
- Monitoring Temporary Staffing logs and databases, escalating issues to the Bookings Lead or Bookings/Reporting Manager where appropriate.
- Support with inputting data onto Bank Staff and E-Rostering systems for all Temporary staff, including Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Administration staff.
- Assist the TS Bookings Lead with the processing and recording of receipt of Local Induction checklists for internal and external Temporary Staff.
- Ensure that complaints or concerns that are raised relating to Temporary Bank and Agency staff are logged, liaising with team/ward managers, bank staff and external agencies. Request and collate statements escalating to Temporary Staffing Bookings Lead or Matron as appropriate.
- Assist the Temporary Staffing Invoicing Assistants with queries relating to agency staff bookings and charge rates.
- Assist with resolving bank staff pay queries, escalating to the Payroll Administration Assistant/Payroll and Reporting Lead when required
