Job summary

We have a exciting new post available to support the NELFT Newborn Hearing Screening Team

The job role would involve conducting Newborn hearing screen on new babies.

"The successful candidate must be prepared to complete the HSD (Health Screener Diploma level 3) Newborn Hearing Screening, if not already completed. Along with other training as stated in the Job Description"

Main duties of the job

  1. To carry out the hearing screening of newborn babies.
  2. To give hearing screening results to parents.
  3. To ensure careful use of hearing equipment and calibration
  4. Answer phone and support booking of those that have cancelled.
  5. To make sure all equipment is cleaned, calibrated and recharged when required.
  6. To maintain the stock
  7. To maintain accurate and detailed patient records, using the patient management systems including S4H, RIO.
  8. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of babies and their families at all times
  10. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
  11. To adhere to National Guidelines from NHSE and departmental protocols.

Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - LondonThis post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £3,899 and a maximum payment of £4,968 per annum).
