Job summary
This post also attracts a one-off payment equivalent to 10% of annual basic salary. This would be payable as 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at end of the probationary period (Typically six months) and then the other 50% of the incentive as a lump sum at the end of year two.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our enthusiastic and dynamic Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) based in Mid Essex. There is 1 WTE available and the successful candidate would be appointed to work in within the Mid Essex area, which covers Braintree, Chelmsford and Maldon.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will establish and maintain excellent working relationships with wider mental health and wellbeing services and ensure adherence to evidence-based treatments by all clinical staff across the MHSTs. The post-holder will be directly involved in delivering and supervising a range of therapeutic interventions, which may include parent work, group work, school observations of children, short term input and specialist psychological treatments.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend several drop-in sessions focussing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are a new service designed to support Children and Young People (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health.
MHSTs aims to:
- Support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems through evidence-based interventions
- Support schools in developing their whole school approach to mental health
- Provide timely advice to school staff and to liaise with other services to help children and young people get the right help and stay in education.
Mid Essex supports up to 36,000 young people across a variety of different education settings.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join the senior team and support the delivery of interventions, evaluation of psychological practices and ongoing roll-out of MSHTs across Mid and South Essex.
The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified psychological practitioner and fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC).
The post-holders will provide clinical interventions and assessment within their professional sphere of expertise. They will be responsible for assessment, treatment and systematic outcome measurement and the extensive clinical supervision of assistant psychologists throughout the MHSTs locality teams. They will ensure that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to all service users who need it throughout the MHSTs.
The post-holder will be responsible for liaising directly with schools, developing and co-producing materials for delivery/presentation in schools, and supporting the development and embedding of the MHSTs in schools. In addition to this, the post-holder will have a small caseload and be actively involved in delivering universal and targeted group interventions in schools. These interventions will be CBT based, with the post holder required to have experience at delivering individual and group CBT interventions to children, young people, and parents.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Senior Supervisor & Clinical Lead and join an established team of senior clinical supervisors and mental health practitioners. Developing the MHSTs to facilitate wider service transformation within the local child mental health system this will be done in conjunction with local service leads and managers.
The post holder will be expected to have excellent record keeping as part of this role and that this is captured within the electronic system the team uses.
The post holder must be able to appropriately act on any safeguarding concerns escalating these in line with the NELFT policies and procedure as well as working with those involved (CYP, Parents and other professionals).
The post holder must be able to work autonomously as well as working collaboratively with the team.
