The Environmental Control service that covers the North Thames Region is looking for an experienced occupational therapist to join the team following a vacancy becoming available.
The successful candidate will be joining a small and well established team that provides assessment and provision of technology to allow those with long term disability control over their home environments.
The post covers the region and therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to travel independently around the region and be confident of working agilely.
Main duties of the job
To be involved in the day-to-day co-ordination of the E.C service for thedesignated CCGs within the service area.To be a lead practitioner in providing Environmental Controlsequipment for the designated CCGs within the service area.To play a key role in the development of the service in conjunction withother health professionals, Clinical Technologists and the servicemanagers.To provide a highly specialised assessment and prescription ofElectronic Assistive Technology (EAT) for clients with complex needsand severe disabilities.To provide expert advice, guidance and liaise with clients' carers seniortherapists, other health care professionals GPs and Consultantsthroughout the process of selection, installation and review.To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professionalstandard, using highly specialist knowledge and skills from theoreticaland practical experience.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Higher Coast Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,136 to a maximum of £1,915.
