The service operates a 9am-5pm Monday -Friday service from the main site in Romford, which is a short walk away from the new TFL Elizabeth Line. We provide access, assessment, treatment following recommended guidance to a growing population of 0-18-year-olds. We work as a fully integrated MDT working alongside and in collaboration with primary care, universal, targeted and specialised MH services, as well as our educational providers and local authority colleagues.
The London Borough of Havering CAMH service, is also working with the national collaborative and The RCPsych to positively focus and influence our service within the Quality Improvement framework.
The Primary Mental Health (PMHT) role, is focusing on the manualised models and approaches that allow children and families to access self guided help. In light of this the approach the post holder will take on one to one and group intervention and hold strong links to our primary care network and education sector for consultation/advise based intervention.
The post would suit those that have had experience in children services Seeking a promotion after completing preceptorship after being Newly qualified in area of skill, whether that is nursing, social work or occupational therapy.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for organising and prioritising own workload, in line with caseload and service needs.
- To provide skilled evidenced based intervention/treatment within your scope of practice.
- Provided consultations to education, Primary care and LA to support the delivery CAMHS informed advice.
- To show leadership skills across the MDT, sharing knowledge and skill from you own profession, in adjacent to others.
- Supervisor junior colleagues.
- You may need to deputise in the absence of a senior colleague and show the ability to prioritise and delegate appropriately.
- To have organisational knowledge to work within the Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them for example safeguarding children.
- To ensure effective care planning and risk management for individuals and service level is adhered to.
- Complete ROMS for 1:1 sessions and group feedback to improve delivery of interventions.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
