We are setting up an intensive support team for people with Learning disability and Autism and looking for experienced psychologists to join a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary team.
The intensive support team will contribute to the crisis management and care of those with learning disabilities/Autism and/or additional complex needs via a person centred care approach, with the aim of preventing hospital admission. Jointly working with the Community Learning Disability teams (CDLT), the IST will identify and respond to more severe and complex presentations, often resulting in people being unable to continue to live at home.
The post holder will work under the guidance and leadership of the Deputy Director of psychological therapists for the trust.
There will be scope for creativity and contributing directly to the development of the newly established IST service in line with the Crisis psychology teams' values of putting service users, carers and co-production at the centre of what we do and working in a trauma informed way.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide operational and clinical supervision for the psychological professionals working in the IST, as well as supporting the implementation of good practice guidelines. They will also be required to lead and contribute to service development and evaluation.
The post will involve both direct and indirect clinical work with service users, families and wider systems and will include providing specialist assessment, intervention and consultation to individuals and teams. Specifically, the post holder will carry a case load, as well as providing consultation and support to teams with complex cases.
The post-holder will be required to undertake operational tasks to support service delivery and will represent the crisis psychology service at directorate level and in relevant trust-wide forums.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High-Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).
