Job summary

Do you have a background or interest in paediatric allergy and/or asthma? We are seeking motivated and dynamic Band 6 Community Nurse to join the our specialist motivated friendly Childrens Community Nursing team in Waltham Forest

The Specialist Childrens Community Nursing team comprises of four teams - Child Development Nursing, Special School Nursing, Paediatric Continence and Childrens Community Nursing team as well as Nurse specialists. The teams provides care to children across Waltham Forest in their homes, in clinic and in Special School settings. The aim is to provide an excellent standard of Nursing care to enable children to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Main duties of the job

To assess patients, select, carry out, and interpret the end results of specific tests in conjunction with Lead Nurse and PaediatricianEnsure a continuous service to children/young people is offered in the hospital and in the community as required

To support the co-ordination of the service and run nurse-led clinics for patients from diagnosis through to treatment and follow upTo act as an advisor to health care staff on matters relating to the patient's management and to provide clinical, professional advicePromote the development of clinically effective care that is seamless between primary and secondary care settings

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
