Job summary
There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated therapist to be recruited into a Band 5 position at Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge (NELFT) as a Long Covid Physiotherapist. You will be working with a broad spectrum of professionals in forward thinking and supportive team.This post would be suitable for a band 5 physiotherapist looking to expand there knowledge and skills in respiratory / Musculoskeletal therapy working to expand their knowledge in Long Covid assessment and treatment of Respiratory & Musculoskeletal problems associated with Long Covid diagnosis, previous community based work is desirable but not essential.You will receive regular supervision, training, and support from highly skilled colleagues to address your learning needs and work closely with other members of the MDT. Internal and external courses are supported as part of your CPD.You will be joining a well-established team of supportive staff.This Long Covid Team provide a well-coordinated and high-quality service to patients of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge areas, to ensure the complex needs are met.Care driver not essential but desirable
Main duties of the job
So, what do you need to join our team?
- To be a Registered HCPC Physiotherapist, Suitable for newly qualified or existing band 5 physiotherapists.
- Desirable community respiratory and long Covid assessment experience. However, this can be taught under the guidance of senior staff.
- Passion to deliver high quality care to patients with long term conditions in community settings.
- Previous NHS experience desirable but not essential.
- Maintain clinical expertise by continued professional development and by encouraging and developing others
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to large groups of people.
This is a full time position, Monday to Friday. The role has clinical responsibilities and some oversite of rehabilitation assistants and there is opportunity for agile / home-based working.
As a member of the team, your role is primarily to deliver face to face and virtual Long Covid Clinics across the boroughs, including assessments, group education and post assessments in line with National guidance
As a Band 5 physiotherapist you will also be expected to participate in regular CPD and present for ongoing learning. You will also receive regular supervision and appraisals from senior members of the team.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High-Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436).
