Clinical Lead for Specialist Children's Nursing

Job summary
The post holder will be highly experienced and able to provide leadership within a wider nursing network offering targeted services to children and young people within Redbridge. The post holder will manage a highly specialist caseload of the most complex children and families requiring case management and robust care planning. They will contribute to specialist assessment & management and leading on co-ordinating the Nurse-led reviews within the services, this may include independent non-medical prescribing.
They will provide either supervision or line management and supervision to the band 7 nurses within, child development services, specialist school nursing services, Paediatric Continence, specialist LAC nurse and Community Children's Nursing Team.
Main duties of the job
- To provide expertise in this highly specialist clinical area and to offer advice and consultation on clients care to other members of the team, in relation to the area of expertise this may include children with both chronic and acute conditions.
- To support the development of effective care planning and treatment for children with complex needs.
- To case manage a small caseload of highly complex children and families who require the development of clear treatment goals/care planning, and to ensure all relevant services are included within the development of the treatment/care plan.
- To offer training in assessment and interventions for C&YP with complex needs to CAMHS, CDC, LAC and other professional networks as and when appropriate.
- To liaise with medical colleague, partner agencies both within mental and physical health across a range of settings.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).
