Job summary

The post holder will provide effective management and oversight of the compliance of the Trust with regards quality controls for medical devices and administrative support to the Medical Devices Team in relation to this. This will involve dealing with enquiries from staff, and contractors either face to face, over the phone or via email.

The post holder will co-ordinate and maintain documentation associated with compliance and assurance processes including procedural documents, and work proactively to commence review processes prior to them becoming due.

The post holder will be an effective decision maker, who is able to prioritise own workload whilst responding to interruptions. The post holder will be able to deal with unpredictable work patterns and proactively deal with issues without reference to others.

Main duties of the job

Assist in the overall management & oversight of the compliance of the Trust with regards quality controls for medical devices to ensure it operates in a safe efficient & effective manner

Manage internal/external quality control processes with regards medical devices in conjunction with the Medical Devices Manager control sample distribution co-ordinating data collection intelligent monitoring & exception reporting highlighting areas of non-compliance to the line manager

In conjunction with Medical Devices Manager to review medical devices data sources & develop reports

Deputise in the absence of Medical Devices Manager providing support for the smooth running of the medical devices Team

Liaise with Education & Training & external training contractors to organise medical devices training

Provide ad-hoc training with regards to medical device use to internal staff within own level of competence

Manage allocation to staff of specific medical devices with processes in place to ensure the location of medical devices are updated on relevant computer systems

Work flexibly to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner

Responsible for building relationships with medical devices suppliers trainers and contractors

Using own judgement & communication skills ensure that internal staff with medical device related queries are responded to accordingly

Cross check against department systems external equipment provider invoicing reports raising and resolving queries as appropriate

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011)
