Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NELFT Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service.
The Occupational Therapy profession within NELFT is a highly valued, vibrant group based across a wide range of health services.
Occupational Therapy Assistants work with multi-disciplinary teams contributing their unique knowledge and skills, supporting service users to increase their independence and achieve their personal goals while supporting recovery and social inclusion.
Within this service you will have the opportunity to work with service users throughout the acute mental health care pathway, supporting the provision of specialist OT assessment and interventions to service users as inpatients, in the community and in their homes.
You will work alongside Occupational Therapists and other OT Assistants to provide a recovery focussed occupational therapy service including 1:1 and group work.
The successful candidate with receive professional supervision from an Occupational Therapist in the A&RD Acute Mental Health Occupational Therapy Team.
Main duties of the job
The succussful candidate will:
- Work as part of the A&RD Occupational Therapy team to provide care to service users within the Acute Mental Health Care Pathway.
- Be responsible for own work and actions.
- Carry out and monitoring treatment programmes as directed.
- Form part of an interdependent multi-disciplinary team helping to ensure that their input is integrated in to the service user's overall care & treatment plans.
- Promote the recovery of service users and maintaining their independence.
About us
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement -
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,108 to a maximum of £5,177).
