NELFT's Crisis Assessment and Triage Team have an exciting opportunity for a team leader / pathway lead to join the team, covering Kent and Medway ChYPMHS.
You will lead a team of experienced and highly skilled nurses, social workers and occupational therapists who conduct crisis mental health assessment in acute hospitals and community settings. The team respond to children and young people who are presenting in mental health crisis, with a response time of 4 hours, day and night. Other elements of the role include triage and signposting referrals that are received from acute settings, NELFT services and 111.
Main duties of the job
You will also be instrumental in guiding and leading the team to meet the NHS long term plan goal of 100% of children and young people accessing crisis mental health services in the community by April 2024. You will be part of service transformation and community culture movement whereby assessments will move away from acute hospital settings. You will work collaboratively with NELFT services including 111, social care, education, SEACAMB, police and the acute services to achieve this goal.
Within this role you will work closely with the inpatient and community teams within NELFT, acute hospital settings, police, GP's SEACAMB, NELFT professionals, KCC, schools and other partner agencies. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside and support the other pathway team leaders within the pathway, including; the intensive home treatment team, short stay services (72 hour crisis beds and HBPOS) and the inpatient GAU unit at KMAH.
You will offer clinical and managerial supervision to the team, offer clinical and operational guidance where necessary, attend, rep-resent and lead professional and network meetings and develop audits and new processes to support the delivery of the crisis assessment triage team alongside the senior leadership team. You will be expected to monitor compliance, KPI's and the teams overall wellbeing.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
