Job summary

A vacancy for a 0.45 WTE 8a Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist with an interest and experience in neuropsychology has arisen in NELFT's Neuropsychology Service. The post-holder will be part of an established Neuropsychology Pathway in NELFT which offers specialist neuropsychological assessment, consultation and advice to teams in both community health and mental health pathways in the Trust who care for patients with neurological conditions. These teams include local community rehabilitation teams, Long COVID rehabilitation teams, specialist community neurology nurses, Talking Therapists and severe mental illness (SMI) pathways. The service covers NELFT's London boroughs which include Waltham Forest, Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and parts of Essex.

The post-holder will predominantly be offering neuropsychological assessment and advice and will have access to various leadership opportunities including teaching, training, consultation, research/audit and supervision of trainees and/or Assistant Psychologists.

The default team base is in a community health centre (Jane Atkinson Health and Well-Being Centre, Waltham Forest) but the other bases across NELFTs London and Essex boroughs could be used and some virtual/home working can be accommodated in the role. NELFT is a digitally literate Trust, with laptop and smart phone provision as standard, and the post-holder will have access to Pearson's Qinteractive for their neuropsychological assessments.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide specialist neuropsychological assessment, consultation and advice to a wide range of teams in both community and mental health settings across NELFT. They will endeavour to promote and champion the role of clinical neuropsychology across all healthcare settings, and to contribute to service development in this area. They will be encouraged and supported to complete postgraduate training courses in clinical neuropsychology.

About us

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
