Main duties of the job

Dartford Children and Young People Mental Health service is excited to offer a newly created developmental post for graduate mental health professionals (e.g., nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, qualified children's wellbeing practitioner) to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team based in Dartford. The role is designed to support and develop mental health professionals working at band 5 level to become a competent and confident band 6 practitioners .

Driven by the principles underpinning the national CYP-IAPT programme (Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) the service provides the latest in evidence based NICE compliant psychological interventions to children, young people and their families experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.

The successful post holder is expected to join the team as a band 5 practitioner and will receive training during the developmental period and be salary matched to mid pay point of band 5. The developmental period will last between between 6-12 months. There will then be an opportunity to work as a full band 6

Post holder will be a highly motivated and innovative individual with experience of working with people with emotional wellbeing and/or mental health difficulties.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
