An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RMN with an interest in older people's mental health and social care to join the Waltham Forest Older Adults Mental Health Team.

The successful candidate will join an experienced and established team, delivering meaningful outcomes for service users and their carers, as well as using their evidence based clinical skills to manage a caseload of service users with frailty and functional mental illness or a primary diagnosis of dementia. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly within a diverse community in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, to develop quality services which improve the lives of local people.
The post is open to registered mental health nurses who are looking for a fantastic opportunity to develop their existing clinical skills or advance their career.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will use their evidence based clinical skills to support older adults with a dementia diagnosis or functional mental illness and frailty.
- You will care coordinate a caseload of service users that have complex and challenging needs and support them to achieve best quality of life.
- You will provide specialist nursing interventions in accordance with national guidelines and best evidence, also supporting families andcare providers.
- You will deliver recovery focused health and social care interventions that include managing risk and safeguarding concerns under the Care Act.
- You will receive regular professional and managerial supervision and be positivelyencouraged to accessa range of clinical and professional development opportunities within the Trust.
- We are committed to providing training where required including Dementia Care.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
