Main duties of the job
This new post represents a hugely exciting opportunity to improve the care we provide for our children and young adults with epilepsy. We are seeking an individual who is proactive, innovative, and able to work collaboratively and independently to develop a co-ordinated and responsive service for our patients and their families.
Although this role requires a weekday work pattern, there will be a need for the successful applicant to work flexibly both clinically to support practice and in a leadership role attending meetings and representing the service both on and off site.
As a senior nurse in this specialist role you will need to demonstrate that you are enthusiastic and highly motivated. You will be well organised and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be computer literate. Using these skills you will work closely with the paediatric matron and lead epilepsy consultant to ensure the paediatric service is able to provide children and their families with the highest possible standards of care within an ever changing and challenging environment.
About us
The Hillingdon hospital has a paediatric epilepsy caseload of over 250 children and this number is fast expanding. The reorganisation of children's services in North West London means that a number of children attend Hillingdon hospital for their care despite living outside the borough, most commonly in Ealing.
