As the TCU Lead Nurse, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of TCU ensuring the highest standards of care for newborns and their families. You will lead a dedicated team of nurses and support staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, and drive service improvements that enhance patient outcomes and family experiences.

Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunity to lead a well established 6 bedded Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Hillingdon Hospital. TCU is a part of the Neonatal Unit (NNU) and is located in Alexandra ward which is a postnatal ward. The TCU Lead Nurse will provide expert clinicalleadership and operational oversight of the TCU. This role is pivotal in ensuring that babies who require additional support after birth can remain with their mothers, promoting family integrated care and reducing unnecessary neonatal admissions.
The postholder will lead a team of nurses and support staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive serviceimprovements aligned with national and local maternity transformation goals. The TCU Lead Nurse is responsible for utilising specialist skills and expertise to provide high standards of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care pathways. Thepost holder is responsible for contributing to the management and coordination of the transitional care service, including resource management, and providing leadership and supervision to others.

The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
