Job summary
Senior Pharmacist Clinical Trials (Band 8a) **31 hours/week (0.83 WTE) including weekend and on call duties, with an expected Monday to Friday on site working pattern

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic specialist pharmacist to join our Clinical Trials Pharmacy team.This role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact by combining advanced clinical trials and haemato-oncology expertise with leadership and service development.
We are seeking an individual with strong clinical knowledge, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a passion for excellence. In this challenging but rewarding role, you will work as part of the researchdelivery team to ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), manage pharmaceutical aspects of trials, evaluate cost-effectiveness, and support the safe and efficient delivery of investigational medicines.

Main duties of the job
Main duties of the role include:
Maintaining and supporting the Clinical Trials service in accordance with UK Clinical Trial Regulations, the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulation 2004 (EU Clinical Trial Directive) and subsequent updates, along with ICH GCP guidelines and departmental procedures, ensuring a high-quality service to patients and staff
Leading and managing all aspects of trial medicines management within the Dispensary, Day Units, and Wards, ensuring the supply of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) adheres to current legislation and best practice guidelines, safeguarding patients, staff, and the Trust
Providing highly specialised pharmaceutical and clinical advice for all trial medicines to clinicians, investigators, and research staff across all specialisms.
Working closely with the research team to provide highly specialist advice on prescribing and managing adverse events of IMPs in line with the clinical trial protocol.
Leading the pharmacy clinical trials team in education, training, and clinical governance for new and active clinical trials.
Providing a framework for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective use of medicine resources within the Clinical Trials service through education and training, procedures, policies, guidelines, and medicines usage information.
Leading on pharmacy aspects related to the maintenance of cancer and non-cancer clinical trials on the designated EPMA systems.
