Job summary
To provide a nurse-led service to Dermatology patients ensuring timely and effective treatments. Demonstrating a high level of specialist expertise providing advice, support and education to other health professionals, patients, and carers.
The post holder will lead and deliver aspects of the dermatology nursing service, providing care, support, and education particularly to dermatology staff and patients undergoing surgery.
The post holder will perform Intermediate/Advanced skin surgery independently.
To autonomously manage Two-Week-Wait lesion clinics
This post will be based mainly within Dermatology procedure rooms and skin cancer clinics; however, the post holder may be required to work in other clinics in Dermatology.
The post holder will be involved in the development of services in line with the changing demands for Dermatological Care with a strong emphasis on patient education and nurse led services
Main duties of the job
To work independently without direct supervision in an autonomous style and as part of a wider interdisciplinary clinical team and demonstrates excellent communication.
Highly Autonomous practitioner within Dermatology often working alone and making complex decisions.
To conduct surgery as directed on patients referred for dermatological surgical procedures following consultations.
Demonstrates high level of expertise in skin lesions and act as a resource in all aspects for patients with a skin disorder.
Perform Minor and Intermediate skin surge
Identify and promote areas for practice development, including guidelines and procedures to support the delivery of care.
Ensure that nursing care is evidence based.
