Fixed term Contract - 12 months

The SLT team at Hillingdon Hospitals are looking for an enthusiastic band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive adult in-patient service.

If you want to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in the acute, stroke and neurorehabilitation settings, this post will offer a variety of caseload experience and professional development opportunities, including completion of the RCSLT Newly Qualified Practitioner framework and in-house dysphagia competency training.

This role is split between our acute, stroke and neuro-rehabilitation caseloads and requires regular, joint multidisciplinary team working. There will be opportunities to gain experience across acute and rehabilitation settings including opportunities to provide regular teaching and training to nurses, medics and other AHPs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to provide specialist assessment and treatment along the various clinical pathways including neurorehabilitation, stroke, care of the elderly, general medicine, respiratory and trauma. The post holder will work as part of the SLT team and wider MDT and will be supported and supervised by a Specialist SLT as well as the Clinical Lead SLT.

You will receive regular clinical supervision, monthly CPD sessions, peer support and evidence-based practice sessions provided by our very supportive team.

  • Under graduate or post graduate experience with dysphagia within a range of caseloads
