Job summary

Due to an internal secondment, we are currently looking to recruit a Band 7 Workforce Support Nurse for a fixed term contract of 9 months. This post will form part of a job share (0.4 WTE) and will be responsible for coordinating and embedding various nursing workforce workstreams across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a Workforce Support Nurse, the post holder will be responsible for coordinating and embedding various nursing workforce workstreams across the organisation. They will act as an interface between clinical nursing teams and the electronic rostering team, ensuring that the principles of electronic rostering best practice are implemented. This will ensure efficient use of resources and support with staff well-being and work life balance by ensuring high quality, equitable rosters are produced. They will support the safe staffing agenda for the organisation by leading the acuity data collection and delivering training for the bi-annual establishment review. They will also oversee and deliver the training for the trust's electronic deployment tool - SafeCare.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. They will also provide professional leadership to the Trust bank. They will work collaboratively across the organisation and with external providers, work closely with their counterparts across the Acute provider collaborative and ICS (Integrated Care Systems) and participate in regional and national networks for electronic rostering and safe staffing.

The post holder will also act as a visible and credible clinical leader in the organisation working alongside the Head Nurse (interim) Workforce and Education to ensure that the nursing, midwifery and AHP workforce are supported within the organisation. The post holder will advocate for patients and will role-model professional nursing practice for all staff within the organisation. The post holder will deputise for the Head Nurse Workforce and Education (interim) at relevant meetings and events and support with the wider recruitment and retention nursing workstreams within the organisation.
