Job summary

This post is a senior role responsible for the delivery and planning of the trust's emergency planning resilience and response for all activities and across all sites of the Trust. This involves understanding complex environments and situations across NWL and Pan London, supporting Gold command to deliver the best outcome for staff and patients including specialist advice on decisions which would involve fatality; significant loss of revenue and reputation in a highly dynamic volatile situation.

This lead role is required to continuously change priority according to the needs of the wider community and Trust.

On behalf of the Chief Operating Officer, the post holder will take the lead in ensuring the Trust meets its statutory obligations and complies with all relevant Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) guidance for the NHS, this includes business continuity and resilience preparedness.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Trust EPRR plans, including the HAZMAT and CBRNE lead role
  • Develop and contribute to professional relationships within the organisation, with commissioners and other multi-agency partners to continually develop the Trust EPRR arrangements
  • Coordination of emergency preparedness and training exercises for the Trust and responsibility for planning and providing the provision of all training required for the Trust to meet compliance standards
  • Improve standards of emergency preparedness across the Trust and provide leadership on specialist emergency planning issues, in the context of the Foundation Trust's Terms of Authorisation.

  • The post holder will also be responsible for developing regular reports to the EPRR Committee and Board-level Committees as required.
