Job summary
We have a great opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Manager to join our Team at the The Hillingdon Hospital.
They will be a key member of the Finance Department and expert in their field. Responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable Team (AR) and ensuring effective invoicing, credit control and cash collection services are provided to the Trust.
Working with autonomy to apply specialist knowledge across a wide range of work policies, procedures and areas including income generation & invoicing, private patients, overseas visitors charging regulations, accommodation and site rentals, regulations governing Injury Compensation Recovery, losses & compensations reporting.
Supports the Head of Treasury and Head of Financial Services and assists with year end accounts, specifically NHS Agreement of Balances (AOB) exercises to extremely tight deadlines.
Manages a team of Accounts Receivable Officers providing support, guidance, training, development and discipline.
Main duties of the job
- Income & debtors contact for the AOB exercises. Responsible for submitting statements and agreeing all NHS balances with other organisations. Involves a full reconciliation of Trust NHS income and outstanding debtors. Responsible for completing relevant sections of PFR return and resolving variances on NHSI return
- Responsible for ensuring that all income streams are identified, invoiced and payments collected and robust systems and procedures are in place and maintained
- Training non-finance managers in AR related matters on a one to one basis and occasionally in groups using effective presentations
- Ensure all Trust invoices are raised and despatched within timescales set and agreed with audit. Maintain the Periodical Sales Register (PSR) to monitor receipt and quality of billing information, contract/lease reviews, RPI increases and highlighting any potential problems to designated staff members.
