Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Neonatal Nurse who isqualified in Neonatal speciality to complement our neonatal team. This post offers the opportunity to work in a level 2 Neonatal Unit (NNU) and Transitional Care Unit (TCU) based in the postnatal ward.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder is required to participate in all ward activities as an effective team member supporting the clinical manager/modern matron and taking responsibilities for coordinating a team of staff within a shift.
  • The post holder is required to take responsibility as the prime care provider for a determined group of patients. She /he will work without direct supervision in the assessment group of all relevant care needs, development and implementation of programmed of care.
  • The post holder is required to supervise and teach junior staff and pre and post registration student whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
  • The post holder is required to develop and maintain a high quality of nursing care based on the Trust's mission statement, core objectives and Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare Assistant Strategy.
  • The post holder is required to work within the codes of practice, professional guidelines and policies.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
