Deputy Chief Operating Officer

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Deputy COO is responsible for the day to day operational management and service delivery of the Trust working with the divisional teams and peers. You will also lead the elective and emergency care service transformation programmes working with Hillingdon Health Care Partners, (HHCP). You will on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer take the lead for improving access for patients, and ensuring the Trust meets and exceeds all national and local standards. You will also take the lead on developing the operational plan and updating the board on progress.

These tasks are key as we move towards the hospital redevelopment and new ways of working both in the Trust and across Hillingdon Health Care Partners.

Main duties of the job

Service Delivery

- Ensure that the Trust meets and exceeds all national and local targets andstandards.

- To work towards the Trusts performance being at upper quartile in allareas, of measured performance.

- With the Divisional Teams develop business plans, ensuring their deliverysupports the Trusts objectives.

- Be managerially responsible for all day-to-day operational duties acrossthe organisation in supporting delivery of patient care. This includes closeliaison with support services.

Strategy

-Working with the Chief Operating Officer, Medical Director, Director ofNursing and clinical teams to support and develop clinical strategies forthe Trust.

- Working with the Chief Operating Officer Medical Director and Director of Nursing to develop and action an associated implementation plans.

The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit, and outpatient clinics.

The safety and well-being of our patients and staff is paramount and we are making urgent improvements to address this - particularly in infection prevention and control. We are making progress by working in partnership with local GPs, charities, community services, academic partners, our local authority, neighbouring hospitals, and the wider North West London Integrated care system, and ensuring that we listen and work in partnership with our local population. We are focused on ensuring that our hospitals provide high quality, safe, and compassionate care, while we drive forward with the building of the new Hillingdon Hospital.
